Day one fresh off the trailer. Traded my Harley Fatboy even up for the seeds of financial destruction.
I was really just looking for a body that was not in need of everything. I was planning a restomod so the mechanics of the car were not an issue just a good clean starting point.
Car was manual steering, manual 4 wheel drum brakes a replacement block 327 with a TH350 and a 308 open rearend. Cougar bucket seats and a leaky gas tank.

Stage 1 Clean, inspect and discover shortfalls.
removing decades of encrusted, oil, grease and undercoating covered in layer after layer of old paint.
Entire drivetrain went to a donar Chevelle in Detroit for a new home.
Power washing did like 30% of removing the crud. Scraping with gasket scrapers removed the thick junk, air grinder with abrasive scotch pads polished it all off.
It was washed in phosphoric acid, scrubbed and rinsed the a coat of POR15 and then scuffed with pads and finally finished in Rustolium High Heat engine enamel.

Interior panels all recieved the same clean, strip, reseal and then POR15 treatment, then scuffing and application of dynamat sound deadner/heat shielding pad. Trunk areas had already been treated with POR15 os it was just massive cleaning and drying and resealing seams then dynamat sound deadner.
Dynamat was carefully cut and applied to cover all exposed metal areas in the trunk floor. rolled into place to assure full contact airtight barrier.
Trunk will eventually be covered with custom carpeting .
